I am a designer and illustrator who loves drawing, loves books and loves the ocean. So, when I came from New York to live in Hong Kong, the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, the sound of the boat motors in the harbour and the sound of fish sellers in the market called to me, and I settled down on Cheung Chau. As an artist, I am captivated by sights, sounds, scents, textures and tastes, I am intrigued by how different people have different points of view and I am inspired by my wide-eyed little son, who was born on Cheung Chau. Three years ago, I started to work on a picture book to try to capture what Cheung Chau may have seemed like from my baby son’s point of view. Although we have moved away, we keep coming back to Cheung Chau to sit by the ocean, draw in the sand, and dream.

我是一名喜歡畫畫、愛閱讀、熱愛海洋的設計師和插畫家。當我從紐約來到香港的時候，岸邊的海浪聲、小船引擎聲、魚市場賣魚的聲音把我叫住，我就決定在長洲定居。作為一位藝術家，我被這裡的視覺、聽覺、氣味、質感和味道迷住，我也被不同的人有不同的觀點和在這裡出生的小兒子激發，所以三年前，我開始製作一本圖書，試圖從我兒子的角度來看長洲。雖然我們已經搬走，但我們還是會不斷回到長洲，坐在海邊、劃沙、做夢。
